Teresa is a citizen of the Tohono O’odham nation. Also know as Sh-Girl, Teresa performs stand-up comedy throughout Indian Country both solo and with the Three Sisters Comedy, an Indigenous all-female comedy group. She was featured in an independent film, “More Than Frybread.” She has a passion for O’odham culture and is currently part of a group that is revitalizing traditional O’odham pottery and organizes an annual Potters Gathering at the local Himdag Ki:. In addition, Teresa produces beaded shell jewelry and other lovely trinkets. She is an O’odham language activist/advocate and encourages everyone to be proud of who they are, and where they come from. Her words of wisdom are, “Each day we have a choice of how to be; choose to uplift people instead of putting them down. Choose to live a positive life each day!” Teresa lives Where the Turtle is Wedged and is employed by the Tohono O’odham Utility Authority.Teresa brings a dynamic presence, a passion for education, and years of experience hosting impactful events. Her ability to connect with audiences and guide conversations with warmth, energy, and humor will help set the tone for an inspiring and engaging summit. ![]() ![]() ![]() Our 2.5 day schedule is designed to offer a rich mix of breakout sessions and panels, networking opportunities, vendors, exhibitors, and more! Session tracks include: Teaching and Learning, Youth Advocacy and Engagement, Policy and Data, and Culture and Wellness. ◾Tuesday, September 2: Pre-Conference meetings for RISE grantees, JOM grantees, and IEAC members only. ◾Wednesday, September 3: Full day of breakout sessions, with a special lunch presentation and afternoon Resource Fair.◾Thursday, September 4: Final breakout sessions, Culture Expo, and a special lunch presentation.
