FLAGSTAFF — A crowd rivaling a previous anti-Trump administration rally packed into downtown Flagstaff on Saturday, March 28, 2026 for the NO KINGS III protest around the Flagstaff City Hall.

They were part of a national protest that topped 8 million this year.

That number exceeded the 7 million protesters nationwide for the No Kings II rally on Oct. 18, 2025, with Flagstaff’s protest on Saturday exceeding 4,000-plus protesters in October. The actual number of protests worldwide also grew on Saturday, with more than 3,300 events registered this year, up from the more than 2,700 last October.

Organized nationally by Indivisible and the 50501 Movement, planned locally by Indivisible Northern Arizona and supported by a variety of local groups, opponents of the Trump administration crowded the sidewalks from Wheeler Park and Humphreys Street (video) along Route 66 around the curve to Milton Road, filling the grassy area up to the Flagstaff City Hall sign.

Like protests that could be seen nationwide, Indivisible Northern Arizona stressed the attitude of the day — “Joy, unity, defiance, and peace.”

Besides the usual thousands of anti-Trump signs lining the streets (video), the Flagstaff protests also included a number of information tables for would-be voters this fall; petition and action sign-ups, chanting (video)drum circles (video) and other musical performers, inflatable costumes (chickens, dinosaurs, frogs, sharks to name a few), a giant walking  Lady Liberty in chains, with NAU students (video) marching from campus to the protest site (video).

Nearly 80 Arizona cities took part in the national protests on Saturday, including Anthem, Casa Grande, Chandler, Cottonwood (2), Goodyear, Kayenta, Kingman, Maricopa, Payson, Phoenix, Prescott, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Second Mesa Hopi Reservation, Sedona (2), Show Low, Tempe, Tucson and Winslow, according to the national protest mapcreated by Indivisible.

“This regime has used threats, intimidation, and a constant deluge of atrocities to heighten fear and cynicism so that the American people would not fight back as it shreds our Constitution, disappears our neighbors, steals from us, and turns our country into a pariah rogue state,” Indivisible officials stated in a media release.

“But the people are fighting back — and in larger numbers than ever before. We can now estimate that at least 8 million people protested today, making this the largest protest in US history.

“That means that over a million new people joined us this time around — and we’re hearing stories from all over of people who didn’t just attend their first No Kings protest — they attended their first-ever protest.”

National organizers are now planning next steps.

How we welcome those folks into our movement and turn the momentum of No Kings Day into sustained, powerful, disruptive resistance will be the subject of a coalition-wide Mass Call on Tuesday night. Join us if you can, at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.

A national day of economic disruption is also planned for May 1, 2026.
