High school students in Flagstaff take to streets to protest ICE crackdown in America

Protests were also reported by local and social media by students at Coconino High School, Mount Eldon Middle School and Sinagua Middle School. Protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) intensified during the past few weeks following the shooting deaths of ICE watchers Renee Nicole Good on Jan. 7 and Alex Pretti on Jan. 24.

FLAGSTAFF — A protest march against continued use of Flock license plate-reading cameras and the ongoing ICE crackdown nationwide will be held on Jan. 31, 2026. Organizers said the cameras could be used by ICE as part of its efforts to curtail protests. The march is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Humphrey Street and Cherry Avenue and continue to the Flagstaff City Hall. In a Facebook post on IndivisibleNAZ, "City Hall has not removed the Flock Cameras from the city after voting unanimously to do so. With ICE ramping up its actions in Arizona, and a man getting shot, these Camera’s will be a liability.
