FLAGSTAFF — February is Black History Month, honoring the African Diaspora’s contributions to Flagstaff and beyond. Mayor Becky Daggett recently read the proclamation, with the 2025 theme, “African Americans and Labor,” highlighting the impact of Black workers on justice and equality.
At the Murdoch Center’s Black History Month Kickoff, Mayor Daggett and Councilmember Khara House celebrated the proclamation. Appointed in 2022, House is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is actively involved with local organizations like NAACP Flagstaff and the African Diaspora Advisory Council.
